4:50 p.m.: Boone County stays steady under 100 active cases
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health & Human Services reported 14 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of active cases to 98.
According to the Missouri vaccine dashboard, an estimated 43.6% of Boone County s 180,463 residents have received at least one vaccine dose.Â

5,875 doses have been administered in the past 7 days
The county also reported 8 hospitalizations, 1 of which is a Boone County resident. Â There are currently 3 COVID-19 patients in the ICU and 0 on a ventilator.

The Columbia/Boone Public Health and Human Services Department hosted its first walk-in only vaccination clinic for rural areas Wednesday.
The health department, in partnership with the Missouri National Guard, vaccinated 95 people at its walk-in clinic in Centralia Wednesday.
Ashton Day, the health educator for Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services, says this is the department s first time doing a strictly walk-in only clinic. It hopes that the relaxed restrictions in order to get a vaccine dose will provide more convenience and encourage residents to come out and get vaccinated.
Jobber releases Q1 Home Service Economic Report
The report shows the green industry is continuing to do well, and saw a successful start to the spring season.

Consumer spending in home service started growing faster than pre-pandemic levels by the end of 2020, and continues to do so into 2021, with the category reaching record revenue growth in March.
Jobber’s Home Service Economic Reports are compiled using proprietary data aggregated from over 100,000 residential cleaners, landscapers, HVAC technicians, window washers, plumbers and more, who use the platform. That data is also compared to various sources of government data.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Huron are encouraging people to get up and move for mentoring and make a difference in their communities by challenging themselves to be active while raising pledges to support young people in Huron County
“Move for Mentoring is a pledge-based event to raise much-needed funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Huron,” said executive director Amy Wilhelm. “In the past, we have always held Bowl for Kid’s Sake, a similar pledge-based event. Due to COVID-19, we have pivoted our event to Move for Mentoring, so that individuals can still participate and support our agency in a safe and socially distanced way.”
